Are your puppy prices too low? Here’s the market you should be aiming for.

There’s a growing market of elite buyers.

You know, the ones that do lots of research before deciding on where to adopt their new fur-kid from.

For the steps you need to become an Elite Breeder jump on our next FREE training session.

When they find the right breeder they are not only happy to wait, but also happy to put down a big deposit and pay top price.

Here’s what you need to know to attract these buyers and much better prices for your puppies.

Are you shortchanging yourself by not charging much for your puppies?  Are you putting yourself firmly at the bottom of the market? Chances are you’re doing that because you can’t see how to get out of it.

I even talked to one breeder who said that she only charges $500 for her puppies. And she would feel bad if she charged more than that because then a lot of folks wouldn’t be able to afford her pups.

The fact is there’s heaps of breeders out there selling really, really cheap puppies. You needn’t feel guilty about charging more for yours, if you offer the value.

The trouble with being at the bottom of the market and having the cheapest puppies around, is that you’re barely if at all covering your costs. To do it right, dog breeding is not cheap, right? You know, dogs cost money to feed, they need worming, flea control, vaccinations.  The puppies need microchipping, vaccinating, special food and the rest of it.  It all costs money.  And unexpected vet bills are not cheap either.

So why would you be having a expensive hobby that was a burden on your family?  When instead you could be having a thriving dog breeding program that’s actually a good business. It’s a choice.

It’s very, very hard when you’re at the bottom of the market. And you can’t really see how you can get out of that. So let me just talk about where you should be aiming your marketing efforts.

Where You Should Be Aiming Your Marketing

There is an emerging market out there for elite puppies. These are the puppies that elite buyers are looking for.  Elite buyers are people who have done their homework; done a lot of research.  And to them getting a new puppy is like adopting a new child into their family. It’s their fur- kid.

And they’ve done so much research, that they really understand the pitfalls and what they should be looking.  Because of that they ask breeders a lot of questions.  They’re quite annoying to some breeders! But when people are like that I know that they’re my customers, because elite buyers know what they want. They’re very busy people but they still put their research in.

Value-Add Your Puppies

So if you want to capture that elite market, what you need to do is, value-add your puppies. By value-adding, I mean that you are putting the effort into rearing and breeding your puppies, so that there’s benefits to the owner that they care about.

So what sort of benefits am I talking about? These elite owners who’ve done their homework. have got a few fears associated with getting a puppy.  What they want is a puppy that they can be sure is going to be very healthy. And they want one that is going to be a good fit for their family and have behavior that they will enjoy living with. Now those are the two main things that you should be working on doing a great job with, and reassuring these buyers about.

If you can provide and reassure people about those two things, then you can attract a much higher price for your puppies.

So with the health side of things, we’re talking about offering health guarantee. And we’ll talk more about how you do that on the Breeder Masterclass.

And for a puppy who is going to be enjoyable to live with, we’re for starters talking about family rearing your puppies. What breeders do and don’t do in the early stages of a puppy’s life, makes a huge difference to how that puppy turns out.

If you’re rearing your puppies in kennels down the backyard, then they’re going to be more bonded to each other than they are to human beings. And they won’t be as good a pet as one that’s reared in the living room of your house where it has people going past all the time and interacting with it.

So that’s the basics of it. Watch the Breeder Masterclass and we’ll talk a bit more about what else you can do, to capture the top end of the market and get really good prices as well. So I will see you at the Breeder Masterclass.  To join, just click the button below.

  1. Puppy low prices than in pet store charging triple price that’s unnecessarily to charge triple price

    • Yes, puppies available immediately have attracted a massive premium due to Covid. But that is all changing now. The demand has dropped out of the market in the past couple of weeks. In any market though, the most discerning buyers are always happy to pay top price for top quality canine companions if the breeder knows how to both get their attention AND communicate the value they have added to their puppies.
