No puppy waiting list? Do this.

If you’re relying on puppy sales sites to sell your pups you’re always selling on the fly. And getting the same prices as everyone else. What you need is your own, kick-butt presence online.

And you need it FAST. Here’s what to do.

Do you struggle to build a strong waiting list of puppy buyers?  Today, we’re going to talk about this issue.  And it’s a problem that many breeders find themselves in.

The Problem With Relying on Puppy For Sale Sites

You’ve got puppies coming up or puppies to sell and the only way you can think of to reach buyers is to place an ad in one of the puppy for sale sites. The trouble with that is that you find that you’re competing with everybody else.  Most puppy marketplaces tend to be extremely crowded with sellers, don’t they?

And when buyers come along, they’ll see you buried in there amongst maybe thirty or forty other breeders selling (to all appearances) the same puppies that you are. So you just have to take the prices that everybody else is charging and you just can’t see how you can charge more than that.

That puts you in a situation where you have to sell puppies on the fly.   And it’s really hard to generate a waiting list when you’re in a puppy market place like that.  Because there are heaps of pups available now all the time.

What buyer is going to bother putting their name down with you and wait when there’s a puppy available right now, they can get any time they want, on tap?

So you know this is a real problem for you, because it’s terrible operating without a waiting list.  There is always the risk you will end up with puppies left over when you are essentially selling on the fly.  Just have a good look at those puppy sales sites and you’ll see lots of older unsold pups in there.

So let’s have a look at what we might be able to do about that.

Develop Your Own Online Presence

The solution to this problem is to develop your own standalone online presence.   You need to be online and you need to be at the top of Google search results.  Yes, I know, you’re a dog breeder, not an internet savvy person I imagine.   Well there is a quick and easy fix here.

And the quickest and easiest way to deal with that right now is to set up a Facebook page. A Facebook page only takes minutes.  You don’t have to be terribly tech-savvy to set one up.  And that’s the beauty of it.

Yes there are some restrictions now on Facebook as far as selling puppies in marketplaces and selling puppies on buy and sell sites. In fact it’s not just about selling puppies, it’s also any animal products, even horse riding lessons or sheepskin rugs. It’s a outright ban on the sale of ANY animal products.

So you might even have been relying on buy and sell sites on Facebook before and now you find you can’t do it, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use Facebook. Because Facebook has a category just for dog breeders.

How to Set It Up

So what you need to do is set up your page and make sure it’s in the “dog breeder” category. You find that by setting up a business and then just following the prompts until you get to the “dog breeder” category. What that will tell Google, when people do an online search is  – if they’re looking for puppies or a dog breeder – that you’re a dog breeder.  And there you go, you’re a good match.

Now, some other tips for setting up your page correctly is make sure that you fill out every single bit of that Facebook profile on that page.  What you need to do is make sure your About section is fully completed, especially your location and your little blurb about yourself.  Also make sure you mention your breed of dog.  That way Google can match that up as well.

And the other thing you need to do is to post regularly. A good source of posts would be your own dogs of course and their own puppies. Another good source of posts would be asking your previous owners for updates on their puppies.  Most of them are very, very happy to give that to you.  And ask them to rate your Facebook page, and you as a breeder, by giving you a star rating.  And of course get your friends and family to like your page and you’re away.

Now there are some other things that are really important when you’re setting up your Facebook page if you don’t want it to just sit there and not get any traction and not appear on Google search results. You really need to get to top of Google search results. There are some key things that you have to do and I will talk about those on the Breeder Masterclass.

So please join me on the Masterclass by clicking the button below. I look forward to seeing you there and I’ll be happy to tell you how to make your Facebook page get to the top of Google and get found as a breeder, with lots of buyers coming your way.
